Ingo Maurer Delight Wall Lamp by F. van Nieuwenborg & M. Wegman
Delight wall lamp designed by Frans van Nieuwenborg and Martijn Wegman for Ingo Maurer in 1980. The lamp consists of a square piece of heat-resistant fibreglass fabric, which hangs loosely from the wall and softly diffuses the light from the bulb behind it.
At first glance it looks almost like a piece of fabric hanging on the wall, but once switched on it transforms into a soft, glowing light. The lamp doesn't need to be hung but can also function when laid down on a surface instead.
Delight is one of the best-known designs by Van Nieuwenborg and Wegman and is part of the collections of several museums, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam and Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen in Rotterdam.
This lamp is good vintage condition with minor signs of use.
