Castelli Platone Desk by Giancarlo Piretti (White)
Platone was designed by Giancarlo Piretti in 1970. The three-disc mechanism is the common thread of all Piretti bestsellers, of which Platone is the most daring. With a sturdy cantilever top, it is a practical and foldable desk, ideal for contemporary space needs such as study and work areas.
Giancarlo Piretti was born in Bologna in 1940, Piretti studied at the Istituto Statale d'Arte in the same city before joining Anonima Castelli as a designer. One of his most famous works is the Plia chair, presented in 1969. Among his most important creations are Plona, Platone and DSC 106, which would later propagate its lines to the Axis 3000 and 4000 models. In 1988, at the NeoCon in Chicago, he presented the Piretti Collection: a series of over 50 chairs and seats characterized by a patented mechanism on the backrest, which allows the chairs to be adjusted according to the user's weight..
